profesor Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego, osmanista, literaturoznawca, wieloletni kierownik Zakładu Turkologii i wicedyrektor Instytutu Filologii Orientalnej UJ. Wychowawca wielu pokoleń turkologów, były konsul honorowy Republiki Turcji w Krakowie, Człowiek życzliwy i wrażliwego serca. Rodzinie i Bliskim składamy wyrazy szczerego współczucia. Rektor i Senat Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego, Dziekan i Pracownicy Wydziału Filologicznego UJ oraz cała Społeczność Akademicka
